AWARDS AND BURSARIES FOR ENGINEERS WORKING ON VINTAGE AEROPLANES

Awards and bursaries for engineers working on vintage aeroplanes.

Are you an enthusiast or professional (of any age) embarking on or already engaged in vintage aircraft maintenance or restoration?

Would an award or bursary assist you to progress further?

The Trust can assist financially with the cost of appropriate training, courses and examination fees.

Please let us know. We want to hear from you.

Engineers must acquire the necessary skills for the restoration, maintenance and repair of vintage aeroplanes. Without the availability of knowledge and appropriate engineering cover, vintage aeroplanes will be grounded.

Sir Geoffrey de Havilland was one of the great pioneers of British and world aviation from before the First World War, through the Second World War and beyond, creating and developing Aircraft and Engineering Companies. The Trust encourages the preservation and continuation of the legacy for the enjoyment of future generations, by assisting engineers and pilots to increase their knowledge of, and involvement with, vintage aeroplanes by the presentation of bursaries and awards.

There may also be a limited number of bursaries for pilots - click here for further information
