Looking North West Approach to Rwy 07 is over the ponds shown at the left of the photograph. Woburn Abbey complex is right foreground. The Safari Park can be seen at the top right of the photograph beyond the trees. The ground rises between the Northern end of the runway (Threshold Rwy 19) and the trees but is clear of obstacles beyond the public road which crosses the end of the threshold. Traffic on the public road is controlled by police signals. Note the mature trees to the West of the landing strip which generate turbulence in Westerly winds, and also screen the stud farm.
