| TITLE: INTRODUCTION OF LOCKING DEVICE FOR FUEL ON/OFF COCK OPERATING LEVER | CLASSIFICATION
MANDATORY |
DH 82, DH 82A Tiger Moth and Queen Bee.
Reason
During the investigation of a recent aircraft accident it was recommended by the investigating authority that provision should be made for the positive locking of the fuel ON/OFF cock operating fever in the ON position. Under certain circumstances it is possible during flight for the operating lever to move away from the ON position and thus restrict fuel flow to the engine.
Description
This Technical New Sheet (TNS) CT (MOTH) No 34 Issue 1 requires all operators of DH 82, DH 82A Tiger Moth and Queen Fee aircraft to embody Moth Modification 155 to provide positive locking of the fuel ON/OFF cock operating lever in the ON position. The Modification is to be embodied not later than the next Annual Check or within 25 flying hours from the date of issue of this TNS, whichever comes sooner.
Compliance
Moth Modification 155, or an equivalent method approved by the operator's local Airworthiness Authority, is to be embodied at the next Annual Check or within 25 flying hours from the date of issue of this TNS, whichever comes sooner. DATED Ist March 1999
The contents of this Technical News Sheet (TNS) CT (MOTH) No 34 Issue 1 have been approved under the authority of the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority approval ref: DAI/9402/92.
