TECHNICAL NEWS SHEET

SERIES: CT (MOTH) N0.16 ISSUE: 1 DATED: 30 JAN, 90

TITLE: CENTRE SECTION STREAMLINE WIRES

Aircraft Applicability: DH QUEEN BEE, DH82 and DH82A TIGER MOTH

Cases were reported in the early 1960's of centre section streamline wires, Part Number 36044, having the Part Number and Inspector's Stamp deeply stamped into the flat surfaces of the streamline wires.

As some of these wires may still be in existence we strongly recommend that at the next annual inspection Operators of Queen Bee and Tiger Moth aircraft inspect all centre section streamline wires on their aircraft or held as spares to check the marking of the Part Number and Inspector's Stamp.

Any marked as described in paragraph. 1 above should be removed and scrapped. Only wires with the markings stamped on an identification tag attached to the wire or rolled on the round section ends of the wires should be regarded as acceptable.
