TITLE: FUEL TANK PATCH REPAIR

Aircraft Applicability: DH 82A TIGER MOTH

Attention is drawn to the Maintenance and Repair Manual, (2nd Edition), Section 2, Figs. 51 and 52 where details are given of fuel tank repairs.

In Fig. 51, a repair patch, Part No. H36911, is called for and details of the patch are shown in Fig. 52 quoting the material as 26 s.w.g. tinned steel to Specification S.20. As a result of an investigation it was decided that this patch should be manufactured in 20 s.w.g. material, not 26 s.w.g. as quoted in the Manual.

We therefore recommend that Fig. 52 should be amended to read "20 s.w.g." using this Technical News Sheet as the authority.

Operators of DH 60 and DH Queen Bee aircraft should note that the repairs detailed for Tiger Moth fuel tanks, Part Number U2750 are applicable to the same tanks used in the DH 60 and DH Queen Bee.
