Charity Flying at Halton Airfield. June 13/14 2009.

Domestic Briefing.

ARRIVALS BY AIR

Under separate cover we shall be sending a copy of the Pilot’s Arrival Briefing. Please pay particular attention to the noise sensitive areas and basic procedures and also the times the airfield will be CLOSED each day for the Queen’s Birthday Flypast (QBF) on Saturday (plus air display) and the air display on Sunday.

As the QBF will be subject to a Temporary Restricted Airspace NOTAM (RAT) it is essential that there are no infringements. The CAA have served notice that they WILL PROSECUTE anyone who infringes a RAT.

If you intend to fly into Halton (you do NOT need to be operating Charity flights to attend) we need to know in advance of the weekend and if possible, confirmation of which day (Friday or Saturday or Sunday.)

Anyone arriving on Saturday must telephone in advance to confirm that the RAT has operated on schedule or is delayed. Contact telephone numbers are on the Pilot Briefing.

Please be aware that Aero Expo will be taking place at Wycombe Air Park (Booker) during the same weekend. Watch out for extra traffic in that direction.

All aircraft are expected to have Crown Indemnity Insurance of £7,500,000.

As we are not charging a landing fee, there will be a voluntary donations bucket at crew check in where all contributions will be welcome to assist with the Club Event Insurance premium.

Marshalling and Parking.

Please follow the marshaller’s directions at all times. The aim will be to park all aircraft along the crowd line which will be set up along the southern side of the airfield.

Fuel and oil.

Supplies are available free of charge to Charity flight aircraft. Other aircraft: cash or cheques only please; no credit card payments. Fuel will be dispensed by the Club’s Refuelling Team operating with a mobile facility.

ARRIVALS BY SURFACE

Entry to the airfield is free. There are no charges for car parking. Entry is via the main aerodrome gate off the Halton Village to Western Turville road. Best direction for joining is from the Western Turville end (north).

Park as directed. This year we are able to park cars on the airfield within a few hundred yards of the Club enclosure. There will be a ‘disabled car park’ available to cars showing a nationally recognised disabled badge.

There are no tickets or passes or permits. We are keeping it simple (hah!!) Entry to the Club enclosure will be on presentation of a valid membership card.

Pretty basic eh?

Yes, perhaps, but because most of the world seems to be operating under a cloud of doom and despondency, it doesn’t mean that we have to be too. Come and have a weekend full of colour and fun, and all in a good cause.
